Born in Neptune, New Jersey, Karen Langevin currently lives and works in New Mexico as an Operations Analyst and data scientist.
At sixteen, Karen was granted an early admission and partial scholarship to the New York School of Visual Arts where she studied still life painting and nude drawing. Later, after raising her only child, Karen returned to school and studied Computer Science and law topics receiving two degrees from New Mexico State University.
Karen discovered her love for art when she was 12 years old. She was bed ridden and her parents presented her with some art paper and a pencil to occupy and soothe her. Both she and her parents were surprised by what that awakened.
For Karen, art represents a channel of free expression and release and she enjoys all manner of creativity including crafting, book binding, sculpting, potting, and more recently, digital painting.
A multimedia artist, Karen is inspired by every artist and their work. In the past 10 years her works have been heavily influenced by Jackson Pollock. Current style influences include Vermeer and NeoArtCorE and her current medium of choice is Digital Painting.
