Katalin Rohn Art

Growing up, Katalin always had an appreciation for art and nature, but it wasn't until the age of 83 that she finally picked up a paintbrush. Now at 97, she has created and continues to create an extensive collection of landscape and still life paintings. Her medium is oil on canvas.

Katalin is inspired by the beauty of nature. From forests and waterfalls to flowers and oceans, there is an ageless joy to be captured. These fleeting moments are expressed in her work, both the elegance and the eerie.

Originally born in Budapest, Hungary 1925 to a lawyer and a school teacher, Katalin survived war, communism, and the Hungarian revolution. She and her family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa in 1956 and then again to Montreal, Canada in 1972. Katalin and her oldest daughter, Suzanne ran an antique shop in Montreal before finally settling in Toronto, Ontario. Katalin is a mother of three, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of six.
