Natasha Sazonova

Natasha Sazonova is an artist and illustrator. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Natasha began painting as a toddler. At the age of four, she became one of the youngest students ever to attend the Fine Arts Studio at the University of Engineering and Architecture in Kyiv.
Ms. Sazonova started exhibiting her book illustrations alongside adult artists at an early age, and was planning on becoming an artist for as long as she can remember. After immigrating to the United States at the age of sixteen, Natasha set off on a path to making her dream a reality. She graduated as an honor student from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Fine Arts. She started exhibiting her work professionally, as well as creating illustrations for various publications. Over the years, she has also participated in numerous public art events, with several world-famous Cow Parades among them.
Ms. Sazanova’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, including the Museum of Art and Design (NY City), Aldrich Museum (Ridgefield, CT), Harbor Gallery at the University of Massachusetts (Boston, MA), and Capitol Arts Network Gallery (Bethesda, MD). As an artist, Natasha creates art works in a variety of styles ranging from collages to highly-detailed watercolors.
Natasha's artwork can be seen in private collections, as well as commercial enterprises from California to Paris, France. Her favorite subjects are women's portraits and genre scenes from the Roaring Twenties. As an amateur fashion historian and a keen observer of human behavior, she also enjoys whimsical illustrations of family trees depicting each family member's particular interests while making sure that his or her attire corresponds to the time period they lived in. Ms. Sazonova believes that in order to be a good artist and illustrator, one needs to be a well-rounded person. Natasha spends a lot of time on self-education, and speaks four languages. She has diversified her knowledge into the areas of world literature, philosophy, and politics. In her free time she enjoys exploring new places, along with her husband David, son Aidan, and their two dogs Mika and Ginger. She believes that everyday is a blessing, and beauty can be found everywhere one looks. More of Natasha's work could be seen at: www.artns.us
