I am a Berlin-based artist, was born in 1991 in İzmir/Turkey and lived in Istanbul, Cairo, London and Brussels. My first solo exhibition took place in 2022 in Berlin and my paintings have been featured at group exhibitions in Berlin, London, and Barcelona. I deploy natural objects as active co-creators of the paintings: stamping with plants and throwing the color with different kinds of shells. I paint and draw instinctively, with no image or plan in my mind, and let the color, water, plants, and shells actively take part in the painting process. My art is a criticism of antropocentrism. My painting process does not only contain the joy and celebration of life and existence, but also a deep sorrow and grief over the destruction of the earth and lives of all creatures by human greed and violence, as well as injustice at every level. I practice aikido and transcendental meditation and write poetry.
