White Bear Standing ART & Design. Sherry Crawford is an member of the Kijicho-Manitou Madaouskarini Algonquin Nation who is still discovering her Art Style, and the Art world. She has been 'picking up the pieces' of her Anishnaabe Culture for the past 20 years or so. She embraces the Spiritual / Traditional teachings . Many years ago, Sherry was given her Sacred name" from Elders during a Shaking Tent Ceremony. She is proud to connect to this special ceremonial name, Waabshkizi Mukwa-Gaabaw (White Bear Standing) The White Bear appears in many of her pieces.

She believes it is important to follow the 7 grandfather teachings and 'walk her talk'...she believes the 'rest' will fall into place as it is supposed to.

Sherry returned to school in 2005/6 and received a degree in Social Service work through St. Lawrence College and First Nations Technical Institute, Tyendenaga Mohawk Territory. Since that time, she has evolved in many ways, and now claims her title as Artist and Helper! She has come a long way and now incorporates ART & Healing. She feels it is important to share these important teachings in her Art.
