When we don't allow ourselves to feel our feelings when we feel them, we are doing a great disservice to ourselves and the support systems we inhabit. All things come out eventually - nightmares are actually just a guide to self-actualization if you take the time to dissect them. The things that we dream about, have nightmares about, the things that bring us anxiety are from our shadow. The pieces of our subconscious that have gone without light, love, attention. The more you turn away from your shadow, the bigger it gets. If you face it, you might be surprised to see what positive effects can come out of facing your shadow. Don't let your unfelt feelings guide you without your consent - feel them in all their emotional guts and glory. This is the drive of my art. This is the secret life of feelings left unfelt.
