The Paper Aspen

The Paper Aspen started as a "just for fun, let's see if I can make something pretty" sort of hobby. I am a lover of all things beautiful- seriously, a sucker for anything covered in a nice print, for great colour combos and natural, eye sparkling scenes. While playing with paints I received as a gift years ago I discovered just how rewarding it is to create beautiful things too.

Why "The Paper Aspen"? For so many reasons. The aspen tree signifies so much that holds true to me and my work. A single aspen tree is part of something bigger. Aspens grow in stands or groves supported by an extensive root system. The Paper Aspen is more than me. The inspiration comes from everything I see, feel and experience and those things are influenced by so many other people. Aspens are deciduous trees but grow even in the winter, standing out in their bright, sunshiney-yellow glory in a sea of green conifers. I want The Paper Aspen to be different. I want each piece to stand out as something special. Every piece might not catch your eye but I want each piece to catch someone's. "Paper" speaks to the delicate, flexible nature of the work created here. With the strength and beauty of the aspen and the infinite number possibilities that a piece of paper grants, each print is hand made to be loved by someone.
