My work encompasses my interests in Hip Hop, typography, science, mathematics amongst other things. Growing up immersed in Hip hop culture, I've always believed that Hip Hop is more than the usual depiction of rap music, dance and graffiti, etc,. I wanted to create a brand that showed an intelligent and deeper understanding of the culture, and so, began uchi clothing. Originally it was to be called "house" clothing, but the name was quickly changed whilst I was working as a typesetter of Japanese manuals and learning the language. The Japanese word for home and family, "uchi", has a much deeper and cultural concept of 'where someone belongs to'. It was exactly the vision I had for the brand, and so it was a perfect name.

I am a typography geek, and this is evident in a lot of the work that I do. Coming from a print and typesetting background, I enjoy screen printing my own limited edition artworks. I love the nuances that can occur on every print. Whether printing, illustration or typography I am constantly trying to push my self and try new things. Oh, and I also dabble in digital artwork too.
